Peace, Propaganda & The Promised Land
Very interesting view of the palestinian conflict... beyond the news

  Collective delirium
This country is tired. They are back. They are back the people who do not shave, and stand on the rubble of destroyed houses making the V of victory with their hand.
Those who believe that willpower can move mountains. Those who have surrendered their soul and flesh to their warlord. Those who are made strong by their own suffering.

What happened all these years, were we drunk? Is this reality?

People do not understand politics. Maybe if I make it simple they will understand:
If someone who is 3 times bigger then you comes and rips your cookie off your hand, what do you do:
A - I go back to him, slap him in the face and take back my cookie
B - I continue on my way, I can get myself another cookie later

Do you get my point?

I guess the Umma doesnt care
"Earlier this year, millions upon millions of Arabs and other Muslims worldwide were engulfed by white-hot rage. Norwegian and Danish flags were burned in great numbers. Embassies and consulates were torched. Aid workers were chased out of Palestine on gunpoint. Scandinavians had to evacuate Syria and Indonesia. Vast consumer boycotts were launched, supermarkets were cleared of Scandinavian wares. Trade sanctions were imposed on Denmark and ambassadors recalled to great popular acclaim.

Why? On account of DRAWINGS. DOODLES. CARTOONS that offended some but harmed none, and that almost noone in Scandinavia, including the governments, had anything to do with.

Now Israel's war machine is destroying Lebanon, bombing indiscriminately, killing children, forcing thousands to flee, ruining infrastructure. Simultaneously Israel is assaulting Gaza, seeking to create humanitarian disaster and civil war in the world's most densely populated area.

So is the Arab street on fire? Are millions of Muslims turning out from Morocco to Malaysia in solidarity with Lebanon and Gaza? Are supermarkets even being cleared of Israeli goods? Are people even giving a d**n?"

"Since many terrorist groups are caught up in notions of cosmic war - grand struggles of religious dimensions - they in fact welcome overt warfare since it vindicates their views of the war, a war whose timelines are very long," says Mark Juergensmeyer, a specialist in "new terrorism" at the University of California at Santa Barbara, who visited Lebanon just before bombs began to fall. "A siege is exactly what they want - it keeps them motivated."

  No more nightlife
I drove through what used to be some of the busiest nightlife spots in the city... this friday night (that's 2 days ago) and took photos.

Monot street:

I walked through downtown. Not one single soul in in the whole downtown area, exept for the security guys.
I took some pictures before the army asked me to go home.

  Lebanese morale still high
I'm watching Lebanese TV and despite Israel's campaign of terror against Lebanon, morale among the Lebanese populace is still high.

They are saying that Israel can destroy the bridges, the tunnels, the airports, the roads, the highways, the powerstations, but that they can never destroy the spirit of the people.

Infact, one person they interviewed was in his car going up to the mountains to hike and said that Israel's terror onslaught will not deter him from living his life normally and that he is not afraid.

The Lebanese are an extremely proud, resilient, and patriotic people.

The Cedars of Lebanon have stood for thousands of years and will continue to stand.

May God bless and protect my beloved country.

  Welcome
The idea behind this blog is to present lebanon as I know it, to show what a beatiful country Lebanon is (was?) before this nightmare began.
Then maybe we can persuade those who are calling the shots to do what has to be done so that this will stop.

Please Contribute

This is not my blog, this is the blog of whoever has to contribute pictures, videos and texts of that Lebanon.

Please Contribute :-)

We want to show Lebanon as we know it, before it gets destroyed.
